Shark submarine: the invention of Professor Calculus in volume

The shark submarine is reproduced with the proportions of Hergé's drawing: the pisciform silhouette, the dorsal fin which serves as a kiosk, the lateral pectoral fins, the rudder tail. The resin painting restores the steel gray of the hull, the side portholes, and the details of the entrance hatch. It is a machine that fits in one hand but which faithfully reproduces an imaginary machine.

The originality of the Les Icônes line is to treat the inventions of the series as design objects in their own right. The shark submarine floats in Tintin in the Land of Black Gold without ever explaining how it flies: Hergé drew it so that we would believe it without demonstrating its physics.
