The red and white checkered rocket is one of the most reproduced comic book objects in the world, and yet the official Tintinimaginatio version remains the gold standard for any serious collector. Hergé designed it in 1950 based on the documentation available around the German V2, with this tapered silhouette on three fins which became an icon well beyond the readership of the series.
Three heights, three distinct uses. The 30 cm fits on a library shelf next to the albums, a natural entry point. The 60 cm changes status and becomes the central piece of a piece of furniture or a sideboard: at this size, the squares of the checkerboard are fully legible, the fins have their physical presence, the conical top says the machine designed for space. The 90 cm occupies a corner of a room or a dedicated base, the presence of a sculpture.
The resin is painted by hand in the Tintinimaginatio workshops: each square of the red and white checkerboard is placed individually. The three fins are assembled separately on the body of the rocket, which makes it possible to take care of the joining edge that the molding of a single piece would not reach. Numbered copy, original box.
