General Alcazar of the Imaginary Museum: the dictator in fatigues
Hergé drew Alcazar in operetta military outfit: medals on his chest, general's cap, fang mustache. The character embodies the political instability of San Theodoros with a sense of panache that the hand-painted resin restores without attenuating the caricature side. The medal on each side, the epaulettes, the general's belt: each accessory is treated separately in paint.
Alcazar's face is one of the most characterized of the secondary characters in the Imaginary Museum: the thick eyebrows, the dominant mustache, the expression of a man who takes himself seriously in an absurd situation.
From The Broken Ear to Tintin and the Picaros
Alcazar goes through several Tintin albums, always between two coups d'état, always in full dress and big speeches. His figurine is aimed at readers who have followed him from The Broken Ear to the Bolivia of Tintin and the Picaros.
