Mochica vase from the Imaginary Museum: the pre-Columbian resin artifact
The Mochica vase is reproduced with the ornaments and colors of the pre-Columbian ceramics that Hergé had documented in the Belgian collections for the albums of the Andean period. The anthropomorphic patterns on the body, the simulated glaze on the resin, the terracotta color with its firing variations: hand painting reproduces the material of the fired clay better than a production molding.
