Pixi Chesterfield standard bearer, 275 copies: the officer and the stars
Chesterfield carries the stars and bars American flag with the seriousness of a character who believes in every military gesture he makes. The pole is held high, the fabric deployed or folded depending on the moment captured, the posture of the standard bearer who will not bend. The painted metal renders the red and white stripes of the flag on a scale that requires a very fine brush.
The flag is the most technical element of this composition: reproducing the alternating stripes and stars on a curved metal surface, without the colors overflowing. This is the most accurate paint job in the The Bluecoats series.
