Pixi The Bluecoats L'Or du Québec: the painted lead canoe

Blutch and Chesterfield paddle in their canoe, dressed as Canadian trappers, in the posture of two soldiers who have agreed to play explorers for the duration of an album. The hand-painted lead restores the texture of the wood of the canoe, the fur and wool costumes of the trappers, the faces of the two characters in their usual expressions: Blutch's doubt, Chesterfield's confidence.

The canoe composition is one of the rare ones in the The Bluecoats series to take the duo out of its military context. The trapper costumes change everything: no more northern blue, no more uniform, just two characters in expedition gear in a vehicle suited to the territory they are crossing.
