Pixi The Bluecoats saloon, 275 copies: the counter reconstituted in metal
The saloon scene recreates the metal counter: the wooden top, the bottles behind it, the stools. Blutch and Chesterfield lean side by side in the posture of taking a break: elbows on the counter, looking out into space, the war temporarily suspended for the duration of a drink. Both characters in this context have abandoned their usual competitive postures.
The volume counter is the technical challenge of this composition: a structure that stands alone, with its metal bottles, its woodwork reliefs. This is the closest composition to a set model in the entire The Bluecoats series.
